Ss. Cyril and Methodius University (UKIM) in Skopje is the first state university in the Republic of North Macedonia, established in 1949. Daugavpils University (DU) is a centre of higher education in region Latgale, where the main study and research potential of Eastern Latvia in the fields of natural sciences, social sciences and humanities is developed. One of the aims of Daugavpils University is to provide high quality studies and scientific research on appropriate nowadays level, forming an intellectual base for the harmonious development of the country and the region. DU offers higher education opportunities in more than 50 accredited study programs. DU has 2 scientific institutes: Institute of Life Sciences and Technologies and Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences. In order to contribute the efficient use of higher education and scientific resources, in the result of the reorganisation, the agencies "Latvian Institute of Hydroecology" (DU LIH) and "Daugavpils Medical College of Daugavpils University" (DMC DU) have been integrated into Daugavpils University. The Polytechnic Institute of Guarda (IPG) is a public higher education institution in Portugal with campuses in Guarda and Seia. Founded in 1979, IPG offers a wide range of Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in engineering, management, health, education, tourism, and hospitality. With around 3,000 students and a strong focus on applied learning, IPG combines academic training with research and regional development. Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal (H2) is a modern university of applied sciences in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, with campuses in Magdeburg and Stendal. Since 1991, it has offered around 50 Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in engineering, business, social sciences, design, and environmental studies. With 6,300 students and 130 professors, the university is recognised for close academic interaction and strong partnerships with industry and research. More than 200 researchers work on applied projects that turn knowledge into practical solutions. The Center for the Promotion of Science (CPN) is a public institution established in 2010 by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia, and charged with promoting science and technology. In accordance with its mandate, the Center implements programmes and activities by working with research and educational institutions in Serbia and around the world, and it also works closely with the ministries in the Serbian Government, the media and the private sector. Holding a PhD in System Innovation from Osaka University and advanced training from Nagoya University, he bridges engineering and medicine through hands-on teaching in AI, robot vision, and embedded systems. Prof. Dr.-ing. Michael A. Herzog is Professor of Business Informatics at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal and leads the interdisciplinary research group SPiRIT. At TECHSIGHT, he contributes his expertise in digital business, AI systems, and human-computer interaction to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship education. He serves as Vice Dean for Research and Technology Transfer and collaborates internationally with institutions such as Old Dominion University (USA) and Ontario Tech University (Canada). His teaching and research focus on educational technologies, adaptive AI information systems, and IT-supported sustainability. Before academia, he gained over 15 years of experience as a founder, entrepreneur, and software engineer in Germany and Italy. He has led projects securing €7 million in research funding and played a key role in acquiring €12 million for university-wide initiatives. Author and editor of 16 books and over 90 peer-reviewed articles, his work has been recognised with awards including the Ars Docendi Prize in Austria and the Research Prize of Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal.

Dr. Sahin is an accomplished engineer and researcher with a deep expertise in the fields of physics, mechanical engineering, and medical technology. He holds a BSc in physics engineering and an MSc in mechanical engineering from Istanbul Technical University. He then went on to earn his Ph.D. in the Institute of Vision and Optics at the University of Crete, School of Medicine, where he worked on an EU-funded project called "OPAL."
Furthermore, Dr. Sahin was a member of a multidisciplinary team led by Professor Ioannis Pallikaris, who is also known as the inventor and "father of the LASIK technique."
In addition to his academic work, Dr. Sahin has also held various positions in the Dunyagoz Hospital group, including R&D Manager and Biomedical Engineer. He also took part in a privately-funded project for a product that he also contributed IP rights to. This project presented several challenges, including securing IP rights, funding, and creating a production infrastructure. He successfully overcame these challenges and was able to bring the product from an idea to a final product.
Currently, Dr. Sahin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechatronics at Yildiz Technical University and the founder of M2 Lab.

He completed his Ph.D. in Mechatronics Engineering at ITU, where he also served as a research assistant at the Mechatronics Education and Research Center. He later conducted postdoctoral research at the Italian Institute of Technology. His research focuses on computer vision, multi-object tracking, object re-identification, and visual scene understanding in complex, real-world environments, with recent contributions in surface defect detection and machine vision applications for robotics. He has authored and reviewed numerous papers for top-tier journals and conferences in computer vision, image processing, robotics, and remote sensing. At Yildiz Technical University, Dr. Bayraktar teaches undergraduate courses including Programming and Algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming, Introduction to AI, and Introduction to Image Processing, as well as graduate-level courses in Robot Vision and Machine Vision Applications in Mechatronics Engineering.

Holding a PhD from the University of Tokyo, where he honed his expertise in advanced mechatronic systems, Dr. Erkan has authored over 70 scientific publications and secured multiple patents, including designs for contactless transport systems using hybrid electromagnets (TR 2016 20306 and TR 2018 09733), microrobot systems (TR 2015 16147), and modular maglev carriers (industrial designs 2024 009752 and 2024 009753). His inventions, such as the novel cross-type hybrid 4-pole maglev carrier and untethered micro-UFO manipulation techniques, have revolutionized precision robotics and vibration isolation, enabling applications from micro-gravity platforms to high-speed conveyance systems. These contributions stem from his multidisciplinary approach, blending electrical engineering with mechanical dynamics to create efficient, zero-power levitation controls that minimize energy consumption and enhance system robustness. Dr. Erkan's innovations extend beyond academia through robust industry collaborations, including TÜBİTAK-funded projects like the Hyperloop vehicle prototype with Technopark (2021-2022) and integrated servo-hydraulic driver systems with private sector partners (2015-2017). His work on sustainable technologies, such as vertical magnetic-bearing wind turbines and autonomous maglev carriers, has earned prestigious awards, including a bronze medal at the International Inventions Fair (2021) for hybrid electromagnet arrangements and top honors at TEKNOFEST for maglev elevators (2018, 2021). He brings experience as a researcher at the University of Hamburg’s Centre for University Teaching and Learning and the Centre for Higher Education Didactics and Applied Research at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal. Previously, she worked as a project manager at a crowdinvesting platform, overseeing campaign management and implementation. She also contributed to the BMBF project “TransferFinanz,” helping develop financing models that support the transfer of socially impactful research into practical applications. At TECHSIGHT, she contributes to the creation of practical learning resources and educational content that help participants develop real-world skills in deep-tech innovation and entrepreneurship. Daniel Nauckis a research associate and programme developer at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal. Within TECHSIGHT, he leads Work Package 3, which focuses on building deep-tech innovation and entrepreneurship capacity across higher education. He steers the design of study programmes, cross-university teaching formats, and multilingual resources for students and researchers. Daniel brings wide-ranging experience as a founder, consultant, and lecturer at institutions such as the International University Berlin and the Film University KONRAD WOLF. Earlier, he helped shape the MOVE2startup initiative, where he created entrepreneurial education formats, strengthened links with industry, and supported talent development through the EXIST programme. His contributions have been recognised with awards including the Grimme Online Award, “Journalist of the Year,” and the Magdeburg Special Prize for Business. Alongside his role in TECHSIGHT, he is pursuing doctoral research on entrepreneurial education.

She has also contributed to variousErasmus+ working groups, including those focused on Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Education, Creativity in Higher Education among others. Ilona Plaksenkova has a PhD in Biology from Daugavpils University (DU). In addition to academic activities, Ilona is actively involved in the development of study quality. Since December 2021, she has been working as the Quality Manager of the Study Quality Assessment Center at DU. In this position, her main focus is on coordinating the evaluation procedures of study fields and programs, ensuring and improving the quality of higher education at DU. Currently, she is also engaged in the OpenEU project ERASMUS-EDU-2024-EUR-UNIV“The learner-centred, inclusive, digital and green Open European University for the strengthening of the European Higher Education Area” (No. 101177241), where she serves as a work package leader.

Biruta Mūrniece is an experienced project manager with more than 10 years of experience in implementing projects in the public, municipal and private sectors. Since 2018, she has been actively involved in the field of education and skills development, managing projects and participating in the development and implementation of various training programs. She is currently part of the DU project management team for several ESF projects, as well as the Recovery Fund project "Digital Innovation and Development of Digital Skills for Entrepreneurs," which focuses on improving the digital skills of businesses and public organizations. In the field of education, she has obtained a master's degree in public and institutional management (DU), as well as a bachelor's degree in history and pedagogy. In addition to her education, she has completed courses in coaching, business management in the digital environment, and other professional development courses.

Jānis Kudiņš obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Economics in 2010, a Master's Degree in Social Sciences (Economics) in 2012, and a Doctoral Degree in Social Sciences (Ph.D.) in 2023. He began working at Daugavpils University in 2008 and is currently the Vice-Rector for Development. He has also worked in local government: as a deputy in the Daugavpils municipality and as a chairman of the board of LLC "Daugavpils Regional Hospital" from 2002 to 2023. Since 2014, J. Kudiņš has been a lecturer at the Department of Law, Management and Economics at Daugavpils University. J. Kudiņš is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in the fields of regional economics, artificial intelligence, and the silver economy.

Viktorija Šipilova is a senior researcher at the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences at Daugavpils University, Latvia. As part of the national research program, she developed research on the importance of smart specialization for regional development. Her current fields of scientific activity are related to various areas of sustainable and digital economy. Recent studies have been devoted to the impact of the pandemic on the education and working processes, effects of depopulation on regional development, digital finance and more. At the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Daugavpils University, she gives lectures on subjects such as smart specialization and regional development, sustainable regional development, innovation, and macroeconomic policy. Viktorija Šipilova is a Latvian Council of Science expert in economy and entrepreneurship and educational sciences.
